Dr. Sabah Balta is currently Associate Professor of Tourism Guidance Department at Yaşar University. Also, she is the Director of Yasar University Continuing Education Center (YUCEC) since 2009.
Dr.Balta, received her B.S. degree in Business Management from Anadolu University and completed her doctoral studies at the Department of Tourism and Hotel Management at University of Anadolu. She worked at Anadolu University and Ege University. She was the Director of Tourism Education, Practice and Research Center of Anadolu University (Istanbul) while working in Eskişehir between 1996-2000 .
Her research interests include New Management Approach, Life Long Learning, Travel Agency Management, Hotel and Front Office Management, Tour Operation Management, Event Tourism, New Technologies to Assist Training in Hospitality, Satisfaction and Motivation of Hospitality Employees, Ethical Approaches in Hotel Management, Distance Education Techniques of Tourism, Employment of the Disabled Workforce, Improving Employee Performance, Tourism Movement in Turkey, Touristic Features and Traditions of Turkey, Social Media Tools and Tourism Industry.
Dr. Balta teaches courses (Undergraduate, Graduate and Master) on Human Resources Management in Tourism Industry, International Competition Strategies, Tourism Legislation, Ticketing and Tariffs (IATA – GALILEO – MUNDUS), Computerized Reservation Systems (GALILEO – MUNDUS-Hotel Reservation & Rental Car), Management and Organization and International Culinary Cultures & Food Design.
Her research project interests include “The Profile of Travel Agency in Turkey”, “Research on Labor and Service Profile of Accommodation Establishments in Eskişehir”, “The Effects of 23rd Universiade Izmir Summer Olympiad within Event Tourism on City Tourism and Social Life”.
Dr. Balta is a member of Scientific Committee of World Cultural Tourism Association (WCTA), Management and Economics Sciences Conference (YEBKO), Social Sciences Research Society (SOBİAD), World Conference for Graduate Research in Tourism, Hospitality and Leisure, International Tourism Week Conference Series-V (ITW 2013). She is a Vice-Presedent of Association of Knowladge Bridges Enterprises (BİLKAD).
Dr. Balta has a research award from Journal of Travel and Hotel Management (SOID). She is the Conference Coordinator of ICBME and has a special thanks letter for her efforts.
She is interested in sports (scuba diving, horse riding ), garden designing, home decorating, jazz, and international cuisines.
